Patricia Kay Vandergriff Holloway

Patricia Kay Vandergriff Holloway, born July 24, 1959, passed away at her home in Pikeville, Tennessee on February 9, 2025.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Roy “Pop” and Shelby Jean Vandergriff; and her grandparents, Lee and Lennie Narramore, and Estill and Edith Vandergriff.

Patricia is survived by her loving husband, Wayne Holloway; her children, Patrick (Brandy) Johnson of Smyrna, and Kandace Johnson of Soddy Daisy; and her three sisters: Judy Williamson of Dunlap, Christy Vandergriff of Washington DC, and Melinda (Chris) Singley of Pensacola, Florida.

Known affectionately as “Nana,” she was deeply loved by her grandchildren: Christian, Shelby, Hailey, and Abel Johnson, and Gavin LeBlanc. She was also blessed with three great-grandchildren: Paisley, Wilder, and Willow.

Pat had an outgoing personality and had never met a stranger, touching the lives of everyone she encountered with her warmth and friendliness.

A proud alumni of Sequatchie County High School class of 1977, Patricia was affectionately known as “Ms. Pat” to all her students at the Chattanooga State Bledsoe Campus. As an instructor and advisor, she served for many years with unwavering dedication to her students’ success, devoting herself to helping each student reach their full potential.

A celebration of Life was held at 11:00 a.m. CST Wednesday, February 12, in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Ronnie Holloway and Bro. James Dunn officiating. Burial followed in Worthington Cemetery. The family received friends from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 11, and Wednesday 9:00 a.m. until her service time at Pikeville Funeral Home.
