Brenda Carol Smith Schoolfield

Brenda Carol Smith Schoolfield, 76, of Crossville, Tennessee died Monday, February 5, 2024 at home with her loving family by her side.

Brenda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was a member of Victory Baptist Church where she spent most of her life serving the Lord as a Pastor’s wife and then she became the mother of a Pastor.

Brenda was a 1965 graduate of Bledsoe County High School, and a retired Kindergarten teacher. She loved spending time with her family, grandchildren, friends, and will be missed by all who knew her. Brenda enjoyed helping out at the church, liked to cook, decorate her house, shop, read her Bible, study history, and biographies.

Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Martha Estel Yearwood Smith; son, James Robert Schoolfield, III; sister-in-law, Hazel Smith.

Left behind to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 56 years, James Robert Schoolfield, Jr.; son, Bobby Schoolfield; daughter, Abigail Schoolfield; grandchildren, Nathan Schoolfield, Kaitlyn (Brandon) Reed, Andrew Schoolfield, Noah Schoolfield, Susannah Schoolfield, William Schoolfield, and Virginia Schoolfield; great-grandson, George Reed; brothers, Brady (Shirley) Smith, Barry (Rita) Smith; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

A celebration of Brenda’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. CST Thursday, February 8, in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Doyle Ashburn officiating. Burial will be in the Pikeville City Cemetery. The family will received friends 5:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 7, and 11:00 a.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home.
