Mike Glenn Dodson

Mike Glenn Dodson, 58, of Pikeville, Tennessee, lost his valiant battle with sudden respiratory failure on Saturday, August 26, 2023.

Mike grew up in Ooltewah, Tennessee and graduated from Ooltewah High School in 1984. Above all, Mike was a loving and devoted father. He was always on the sidelines, in the stands, or wherever his girls needed him to be, cheering them on.  Whether it was on the lake boating, camping, traveling, or simply fishing his farm’s ponds, he could be found with his wife and girls.

Preceding him in death were his mother, Mary Oliver Dodson; maternal grandmother, Edith Oliver; and paternal grandmother, Lora Mae Dodson.

His memory lives on in his wife of 23 years, Kristen Bayless Dodson; three daughters, Gracie Dodson, Maddie Dodson and Ginni Dodson; father, Glen (Wanda) Dodson; sister, Lisa (Ricky) Holland; four nieces, Mandi (Dusty) Crowe, Brandi (Eric) Anderson, Haylie (Thad) Morton and Loren (Luke) Marsh; nephew, Logan Bayless; two great-nieces; four great-nephews; and loving parents-in-law, Kathy and Lonnie Evans.

His friends and family are invited to share happy memories and celebrate Mike’s life in the way he would want to be remembered — as a loving and caring man who enjoyed life.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 23, at 2:00 p.m. CST at First Southern Baptist Church, 2827 S. Main Street, Pikeville, Tennessee.

Online condolences can be made at www.reedfamilyfh.com.

Arrangements are by Putnam-Reed Funeral Home, 1171 Main Street, Pikeville.

I did not know Mike, but his mom, Mary was a sweet friend. Glen is still a dear friend and I’m praying for him and all the family. I know the pain of losing a son. Only God got me through my loss 30 years ago on August 9th. God bless and comfort each of you🙏🏻
