Wanda Sue Swafford

Wanda Sue Swafford, 85, of Hixson, passed away Sunday, June 7, 2026 peacefully at home surrounded by her family.

Wanda was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend. She loved gardening and took great joy in growing beautiful plants and flowers. Her devotion to her family and her faith in God were evident in everything she did throughout her life. She was a faithful member of North Hamilton Church of Christ.

The family extends a special thank you to the members of her church family for their love, prayers, and support during her time in hospice care.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, John E. Swafford Jr.; her son, John Bryant Swafford; her brother, Willie Amos “Bill” Bryant; and her beloved best buddy, Hettie Lee Swafford.
Funeral services were held Thursday, June 11 in the funeral home chapel with Minister David Smith officiating. Burial was in Hamilton Cemetery.
