Oliver “Dewayne” Cordell

Oliver “Dewayne” Cordell, 58, of Pikeville, Tennessee, died Friday, August 20, 2021.

He was a member of Sampson Freewill Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. He was a cabinet maker for 45 years.  He enjoyed fellowship and talking about Jesus and loved spending time with his grandbabies.

He was preceded in death by his father, Oliver Cordell; sisters, Cynthia Cordell and Charlotte Cordell; and niece, Amanda Stewart.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Gracie Cordell; sons, Joe (Andrea) Cordell and Nathan (Serina) Howard; grandchildren, Carson, Branson and Emma Jane Cordell, all of Pikeville; mother, Edna Cordell of Pikeville; sister, Margaret Sue (Lonnie) Hurst of Pikeville; brothers, Melvin (Cindy) Cordell of Pikeville and Ricky (Kathy) Cordell of Jamestown; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, August 25, at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jamey Pack, Rev. Jonathan Hankins and Rev. Wayne Sullivan officiating. Burial was in Blankenship Cemetery.
