Ruth DeBord Hamby

Ruth DeBord Hamby, 90, of Chattanooga, Tennessee passed away Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at home in Easley, South Carolina.

The daughter of the late Anna and Homer DeBord, she was a member of the Greens Lake Road Church of Christ in East Ridge. She was retired from JC Penney.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Arthur Hamby; brothers, Deck DeBord and Marvin DeBord; sisters, Euva May, Dottie Farmer and Betty Jones.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, James (Janet) Hamby of Wheeling, West Virginia, Janet (Jurergan Dell) Buffington of Easley, South Carolina, Mark (Tere) Hamby of Windsor, Virginia; grandchildren Sarah Hamby of Wheeling, West Virginia, Madison Hamby of Wheeling, West Virginia, Matthew (Olivia) Buffington of Rock Hill, South Carolina and Zachary (Amy) Buffington of Lancaster, South Carolina; stepgrandchildren, Valerie (Mike) McCausland of Estero, Florida, Jennifer (Chuck) Easters of Aiken, South Carolina, Kathleen (Danny) Cain of Windsor, Virginia; step great-grandchildren Zachary and Aidan McCausland, Daniel and Gaige Caine.

A Memorial Service is being held Saturday, March 10 at 11:00 a.m. at Greens Lake Road Church of Christ, 1209 Greens Lake Road, East Ridge, Tennessee.

Serving the family was CSSC-Westville Funerals in Greenville, South Carolina.
