Shirley Ann Burks
Shirley Ann Burks passed away on February 10, 2018 at 80 years of age.
Shirley was a strong, courageous and joyful woman. She was the co-founder of Life Line Foods, and Ameritrek Tours. She was a woman of strong faith and a giving heart, as well as a prolific gardener, loving wife, mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Gary Burks. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Ernie and Bessie Bennett and by her twin sister, Charlotte (Bennett) Hallabough and her old brother, Neil Bennett.
She is survived by her younger brother, Joe Bennett; six children: Lester (Terry) Burks, Twyla (Bill) Landess, Teresa (Billy Frank) Angel, Leland Burks, April (Lee) Whitman and June (James) Price; 17 grandchildren Tracie Alonso, Andrew Burks, Stephanie Pelland, Jenni Griffin, Brandon Burks, Valarie Burks, Alissa Fuller, Christina Angel, Adam Angel, Jeremiah Angel, Caleb Whitman, Joshua Whitman, Matthew Whitman, Madison Whitman, Ryan Price, Jordan Price, and Maya Price; 11 great-grandchildren: Miguel Alonso, Max Alonso, Anna Alonso, Connor Burks, Casey Burks, Abby Burks, Sam Pelland, Marley Pelland, Maggie Griffin, Trip Griffin and Isaiah Price.
Shirley loved the Lord and was certain of His love for her. Her heart’s desire was to experience the presence of God in the earth made new. May we all be there with her.
A time of visitation will be held on Saturday, February 17 at 3:00 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 4:00 p.m. at the Pikeville Seventh-day Adventist Church, 52 Cumberland Avenue, Pikeville, Tennessee.
