Pauline Edmons

Pauline Edmons of Pikeville, Tennessee died January 8, 2018, at her home. She was 93.

She was preceded in death by her parents, J. Brown and Fannie Crawford Brown; her husband, Leonard Edmons; siblings, Gordon Brown, Robert Brown, Mary Brown, Ollie Wade, Johnny Brown, Willard Brown, Landon Brown, J. Jr. Brown, I.E. Brown, Barbara Jean Detweiler and Martha Lou DeBord.

She is survived by her sister, Helen Simmons of Pikeville; brother-in-law, Irvin Detweiler of Pikeville; niece, Linda (Kenney)

Rogers of Pikeville; nephews, Jeff (Carol) Detweiler of Indiana and Jay (Lori) Detweiler of Colorado; and numerous other nieces and nephews.

She was a member of Winesap Freewill Baptist. She was a very independent woman who worked hard. She loved to garden and was as active as she could be in her later years. The woman didn’t sit still. In 2013-2015, she cared for her sister, Barbara Jean, before she passed.  She is a dear lady we will greatly miss.

Funeral services were held Thursday, January 11, at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Darvin Oakes officiating. Burial was in Thomas Cemetery. Pallbearers were Buford Smith, Jody Smith, Jimmy Knowles, Isaiah Knowles, Jacob Knowles and Kenney Rogers . The obituary was read by Wade Smith, and Leslie and Wade Smith sang.

Special thanks to her niece, Emily Knowles, for caring for her during the past few months and her great-niece, Bethany Rogers, for 24/7 care the last two weeks of her life. Special thanks also to Lisa and Lisa, two kind hospice nurses.
