Clyde Thompson

Clyde Thompson, 85, of Pikeville, died Monday, February 13, 2017.

Clyde was a retired aviation mechanic while serving 30 years in the United States Navy.  At the time of his retirement, he had the title of an E9 Master Chief Petty Officer. After moving to Pikeville, Clyde became involved with the American Legion, DAV, Lions Club and VFW. Clyde was of the Baptist faith.

Preceding Clyde in death were his father William Thompson; mother, Sally Vance Thompson; daughters, Sherry Levo and Teri Small; twin brother Clifton Thompson; and sister, Betty Craft.

Left to cherish Clyde’s memories are his wife, Joyce Lynn Hathaway Thompson; sons, Scott Thompson of Knoxville and Nick Thompson of Pikeville; daughters, Vicki (Steve) Greider of New York, and Susan (William) McGovern of Mississippi; 11 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

A graveside service was held 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 17 at the Beach Cemetery with full military honors.
