Ed Simmons (Deerhunter), 69, of Dayton, died on July 24, 2016.
Some of his hobbies were fishing, hunting, and hunting ginseng. Ed drove a log truck for many years.
He was preceded in death by his son, Dwayne Simmons; parents, Veon and Leona Simmons; brother, Floyd Simmons.
Left to cherish Ed’s memories are his wife of 22 years, Elaine Simmons, Dayton; daughters, Denise (David) Muncy, Pikeville, Darice Cooper, Nashville, Angela (Jeff) Smith, Soddy Daisy, Stacie (Rick) Hayes, Signal Mountain; son, Scotty Ward, Dayton; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Linda (Bennett) Pendergrass, Athens, Levanne (Hollis) DeBord, Croshia Dodd, and Tammy Simmons, all of Pikeville; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A celebration of life was held at noon Wednesday, July 27 in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Ed Frazier officiating. Burial was in Simmons Family Cemetery.
