Marshall Swafford, Sr.

Marshall Swafford, Sr., 101 of Pikeville, went home to be with the Lord May 11, 2016. 

Marshall was born and raised, and lived all of his life in Pikeville.  He was a life-long farmer.

He raised many cattle and vegetables during his lifetime.  Marshall served as a deacon at Morgan Springs Baptist Church.

Preceding Marshall in death was his wife, Margaret Swafford; six siblings; daughter-in-law, Clara Swafford.

Left to cherish Marshall’s memories are his sons, Hershel (Deena) Swafford, Herbert Swafford, Marshall Swafford, Jr., Wayne (Cathy) Swafford, Willard (Julia) Swafford;; Grandchildren, Lloyd (Diane) Swafford, Mark Swafford, Marty Swafford, Jeremy (Dara) Swafford, Eric (Cheyenne) Swafford, Todd (Wendy) Swafford, Gregg (Kate) Swafford, Stacey Swafford; Shannan Swafford and Gina (Mike) Richey, Sonja (David) Labrecque,  nineteen great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; special caregivers, Juanita and Darlene; and a very special person in Marshall’s life, Bill Hixson; too many friends to count.

A Celebration of Marshall’s life will be 2:00 CDT Sunday, May 15, in the funeral home chapel with Min. Doyle Ashburn and Min. Anthony Smith officiating.  Burial will follow in Summer City Cemetery.  The family will receive friends 11:00am-9:00 pm CDT Saturday, May 14, 2016.
