Tommy Hilton

Tommy Crawford Hilton, 84, of Elizabethton went home to be with his Lord, Wednesday, March 9, 2016 in the Sycamore Shoals Hospital.

A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Robert Lee and Mary Alice Slagle Hilton.

Mr. Hilton was retired from the Tennessee Department of Highway as a District Superintendent after 43 years of service.  He was a member of Slagles United Methodist Church where he had served as a Sunday School teacher and a deacon for several years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Joe Billy Hilton; and a sister, Mary Lee Ward. 

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Katherine “Gene” Ritchie Hilton; his daughters, Lynda Hilton, Kathy Fair, Hope Hilton and Bob Allen, Vannessa Wood and husband Mike, and Tammy Turner and husband Gary; 13 grandchildren, 21 great- and two great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews including a special niece, Mary E. Hilton.

A service to celebrate the life of Tommy Hilton was held March 13 with the Rev. Estell Williams and Rev. Mike Barry officiating, followed by internment in the Old Slagle Cemetery.

Active pallbearers were grandsons: Jeremiah Quintero, Joey Mottern, Cody Fair, Robert Pickens, Chris Turner, Brian Turner, Patrick Turner, Bradley Hatcher and Marcos Demora. Honorary pallbearers were: Mike wood, Gary Turner, Bob Allen, Pete Slagle, Doug Slagle, Tom Slagle, Sonny Slagle, Ronnie Trivette, Lon Davis, Chucky Hilton, Billy Hilton, Tony Bowers, Tommy Lyons, G.W. Puckett and Don Beasley.
