Stephen Alan Smith, 59, of Pikeville, went home to be with the Lord on March 10, 2016.
Alan served as a Bledsoe County School Board member from 1994 to 2013. He was a member of the Bledsoe County Genealogical Society, Historical Society, and the March of Dimes. He loved traveling, trains, photography, and was a history buff. Alan was a member of Lee Station Baptist Church.
Alan was preceded in death by parents, Beecher and Eunice Smith; brothers, Gerald and Jimmy Smith; nephew, Ivan Smith; great-nephew Keith Smith; several aunts and uncles.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his siblings, Melvin (Charlotte) Smith, Sharon (Denny) Woodsmall, Shelia Stone, Gwen (Darryl) Woodall, and Angela (Phillip) Hankins; nieces and nephews, Gerald, Dwayne, Jim, Brian, and Kevin Smith, Mechelle Brodley, Bobby (Angela) Angel, Christy (Bob) Hearne, Joann (Joey) Simmons, Monica (Ronald) Blankenship, Shauna (Nick) Patton, Marie Stone, Candy (Raymond) Reel, Michael (Jessica) Hannah, Amanda (Eric) Morgan, Cameron Hankins, and his special caregivers Adrian and Dylan Hankins; several aunts, uncles, great-nieces, great-nephews and a host of friends.
A Celebration of Alan’s life was held Monday in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Bill Wolfe and Bro. T. A. Smith officiating. Burial was in the Beecher and Eunice Smith Family Cemetery.
