Luther Gene Childress
Luther Gene Childress, 72, of Dunlap, passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at his home.
He was a member of College Grove Church of Christ and served in the Vietnam War. Gene loved church, hunting, his CB radio and absolutely loved his four grandchildren more than anything.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Edward and Minnie Ann Childress; brothers, James Joseph, Marshall “Monk”, and Clyde Childress; sisters, Joyce Smith and Agnas Beavers; son, Steven Childress.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Martha Lou Smith Childress; daughter, Tracy Childress-Smith; grandsons, Jake (Katie) Childress, Garrett Camp and Levi Camp; granddaughter, Raven Smith; daughter-in-law, Angela Childress; brother, Johnny Childress; several nieces and nephews.
Burial was in held in Collier Cemetery.
