Ridley Brown

Ridley M. Brown, 83, of Downers Grove, Illinois passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on Monday, November 2, 2015 at RML Specialty Hospital, Hinsdale, Illinois.

Ridley was born in Pikeville, December 23, 1931 to the late Tom Brown and Ruth (Tollett) Brown. Ridley served our County in the United States Air Force and was a Veteran of the Korean War. He was a public servant for the majority of his career working for PACE Bus Company and then as the Town Sealer for the Town of Cicero until he retired in 2009. 

Left behind to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 60 years Mildred (Frady) Brown, son David Brown and wife Lynn, daughter Carol Urubek, grandson Andrew Brown and wife Kathleen; granddaughter Ashley Brown and fiancé Kevin Lang; two great-granddaughters Abigail and Tessa Brown; two nieces Betty Loren-Maltese and Patricia Rand. He will be truly missed by many friends, neighbors and church family.

In addition to his parents, Ridley was preceded in death by brothers Carl and John Brown; two sisters, Kitty Loren and Grace Naughton.

Ridley was a member of the Cornerstone Church in Brookfield, Illinois.

A Celebration of his life will be held at Pikeville Funeral Home on Sunday, November 8, at 1:00 p.m. with Bro. Doyle Ashburn officiating. The family will welcome friends on Saturday ,November 7, from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. He will be laid to rest in the Music Cemetery.

Ridley lived for his family and friends, never shy to lend a hand or help someone, whether they asked or not. He love the Lord, He love his County and he loved those close to him. He will be missed every day, but walks with all of us in spirit and will continue to live in death, as he did on earth, ever mindful of the needs of others.
