Eula “Dixie” Holt

Eula “Dixie” Holt passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2015.

She was the daughter of John (Hattie Johnson) Dill, born June 5, 1921. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, WWII Vet. John R. Holt, Sr. of Pikeville; her brothers and WWII Vets Samuel C. Dill of Springfield, Missouri, James H. (Rubye Slater) Dill of El Paso, Texas, Leonard S. (Ann Childs) Dill of Columbus, Georgia, Anderson M. (Nedola Bledsoe) Dill of Clearwater, Florida, Alton L. (Winona Austin) Dill of Pikeville, and Korean War Vet. Jamey E. Dill of Meritt Island, Florida; her sisters Ruby V. (Edward) Colvard of Pikeville, and Dorothy E. (Lawrence) Davis of Akron, Ohio; and brother- in-law, WWII Vet. E.H. Nipper Jr. of Pikeville.

She is survived by sisters G. Marie Nipper of Pikeville, and Ina L. Dennis of Monteagle; one daughter, Donna (Norman) Kawaguchi of Hayward, California, and one son, John R. (Marilee) Holt, Jr. of Wake Forest, North Carolina; two granddaughters Amanda Holt (Eric) Jones of Santa Cruz, California, and Kelinda Kawaguchi (Zach) Pinkham of Norfolk, Virginia; two great-granddaughters Leila Jones of Santa Cruz,California and Lily Pinkham of Norfolk, Virginia; and two great-grandsons Jacen Pinkham of Norfolk, Virginia and Julian Jones of Santa Cruz, California; sister-in-laws Mildred Hendrix Dill of Springfield, Missouri, and Laura Dill of Meritt Island, Florida; one step-son, Mark (Winona) Siler of Pocatello, Idaho; six step-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews across the states and two wonderful friends Pat and Francis Agee of Pikeville.

She retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. in 1983 with 38 years of service and while there, she made many lifelong friends. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Dill Memorial Cemetery (non-profit ID# 31-1477663), c/o Marie Nipper, 45 River St., Pikeville, TN 37367.

Interment will be in Dill Memorial Cemetery in Pikeville, at a later date.
