Sue Everett

Sue Everett, 70, of Pikeville passed away peacefully at her home on December 11, 2013.

She attended and was a member of the New Harmony Church of Christ. Sue was very active in her church and in her community. She served as a member on the Bledsoe County School Board for nearly 30 years, and was active with the Republican Women’s Group.

Her favorite past time was to spend it with family, especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed doing yard work and farming. She retired from Bi-Lo Grocery after 28 years as their head bookkeeper. Sue was born March 13, 1943 to the late, Ross and Effie (Vanwinkle) Hancock.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Everett; son, Timmy Everett; sisters, Joann Britt and Margie Rogers; and her aforementioned parents.

Sue is survived and will be missed by her sons, Tommy (Penny ) Everett, Jason (Laura) Miley of Pervis, Mississippi; daughters; Sonja (Bill) Newman of Dayton and Billie Frances (Raymond) Pratt; grandchildren, Ashley (Nehemiah) Fife, Levi Calbaugh, Tate and Tanner Everett, and Noel Pratt; great-grandchildren, Ian Fife, Maysen Calbaugh, Paisley Wilson, and Austin and Grace Pratt; several nieces and nephews, and many dear friends.

A celebration of Sue’s life was held on December 13 in the funeral home chapel with Min. Paul Cagle and Min. Ricky McGowan officiating. Burial was in Rigsby Cemetery.
