William “Shorty” Farley

William “Shorty” Farley, 78, of Pikeville passed away on Saturday, November 24, 2012.

“Shorty” as he was affectionately known, was of the Church of God faith. He was a mainstay at Bledsoe County Nursing Home. If you ever visited the nursing home, then you knew who Shorty was. Some of his favorite things to do were to play cards and checkers.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Vincent and Callie Mae Farley; two brothers, T.J. and Billy Ray Farley; three sisters, Viola Louallen, Anna Belle King, and Mary Elizabeth Gibbs; and three nephews, Chris Hall, James Louallen, and Jimmy Farley. 

He is survived and will be missed by his brothers, Junior (Ellen) Farley, and James Farley, both of Pikeville; sister, Sara Ellen Hall of Dunlap; several nieces and nephews; and the staff at Bledsoe County Nursing Home.

  A celebration of his life was held in the funeral home chapel November 26 with Rev. Andy Smith presiding. Burial was in the Collier Cemetery.
