Anna Hammond

Anna Humble Hammond, 84, of Hixson passed away March 18, 2012 at her residence.

She was born in Pikeville on June 26, 1927, a daughter of the late Hobart and Sallie Cagle Humble. Hammond was a 1947 graduate of Bledsoe County High School. She had worked with DuPont and retired from Red Food Store.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Hammond; six brothers and one sister, Ruby Boring.

Survivors include a sister, Josephine Turner of Pikeville; daughters, Faye Stack, Jane (Bill) Stragand; three grandchildren, Jeremy (Nora) Sullivan, Melanie (Shane) Reynolds, and Amy Micka; nine great-grandchildren, Autumn, Brent, Connor and Megan Sullivan, Olivia Micka, Camille, Foster, and Kolton Wood, Wyatt and Wesley Reynolds; several nieces and nephews; and special friend Mark Stewart.

A graveside service was conducted March 21, 2012 at Hamilton Memorial Gardens in Hixson.
