Anna Hixson Beavert

Anna Hixson Beavert, 86, died Thursday, October 20, 2011.

She was a lifelong resident of Bledsoe County. She was a charter member of Mt. Airy Baptist Church, and a member of Stephen’s Chapel Methodist and Ebenezer Baptist Church. She was a retired schoolteacher who taught over 20 years in Bledsoe and Sequatchie counties.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Thomas A Beavert; parents, P.S. and Mamie Anderson Hixson; sister, Louise Hixson; brother, Eugene Hixson; and two special brothers-in-law Howard and Frank Beavert.

She is survived by her daughter, Carol Beavert (Earl) Eames; son, Philip (Alta) Beavert, both of Pikeville; two grandsons, Jeremy (Kimberly) Eames and Jason (Lindsay) Eams, both of Soddy Daisy; four great-grandchildren, Ella, Erin, Noah and Rileigh Eams; several nieces and one nephew; sister, Carolyn (Walter) Burton; and special sister-in-law, Jewell Beavert.

Funeral services were held October 24 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Virgil Powell and Rev. Bill Cross officiating. Burial was is Pope Cemetery.
