James M. Wilson
James M. Wilson, 77, of Chickamauga, Georgia passed away on September 16, 2011 after a lengthy battle with Parkinson’s disease. He was a long time member of the Worldwide Church of God.
He was born in Dayton on February 11, 1934 to the late Jay Finch and Fanny Bell Wilson. He was a loving and caring husband and father. He spent most of his adult life working in the printing business. He also served his country by enlisting in the United States Air Force.
He was preceded in death by his first wife of 30 years, Virginia Lois (Hurst) Wilson, and his brother, Jay Finch Wilson, Jr.
He is survived and will be missed by his second wife, Jessie Mae (Sutton) Travis of Dayton; son, Mark (Paula) Wilson of Chickamauga, Georgia; daughter, Kathy Overby of Chattanooga; grandchildren, Tara, Chase, and Hunter Overby, Nicholas Wilson and Dakota Hardin; three great-grandchildren; brother, Carl Wilson; sisters, Emma Watson, Catherine Simmons, and Elizabeth Bromley; step-children, Wesley and Hubert Travis and Judy Thomas; 10 step-grandchildren; one step-great-great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews; and many dear friends.
A celebration of his life was held September 19 in the funeral home chapel with Min. Bill Cowan officiating. Burial was in Blackburn Cemetery in Pikeville.
