Flora Rothwell Swafford
Flora Rothwell Swafford, 99, passed away September 9, 2011 at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville. She was a native of Pikeville, born on October 25, 1911 to George Walter and Ida Elnora Caldwell Rothwell.
Swafford received her Bachelor of Science degree from Tennessee Tech University. She taught eighth grade English before retiring. She was affiliated with the Church of Christ.
Preceding her in death were her husband of 67 years, Thomas Aaron Swafford; son-in-law, Edwin Martin Blankenship; and parents.
She is survived by daughter, Bettye Blankenship of McMinnville; grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Dr. Brad and Shann Blankenship of Murfreesboro; two great-grandsons, Matthew Blankenship and Samuel Wright of Murfreesboro; great-granddaughter Ashley Blankenship; and sister-in-law, Nora Lee Rothwell of Chattanooga.
Services were held Sunday, September 11 in the funeral home chapel with Kevin Key and Garland Robinson officiating. Burial was is Mt. View Cemetery in McMinnville.
Arrangements were made by High’s Funeral Home in McMinnville.
