Frank Brown Ammons

Frank Brown Ammons, 89, of Pikeville, passed away January 13, 2011.
He was born March 10, 1921 in Salem, New Jersey, the son of Lester and Myrtle Shephard Ammons. He was retired after more than 23 years from the United States Army having served during World War II. He was also a lifetime member of the VFW and a member of the American Legion.
He loved spending time with his family, especially at Christmas, which was his favorite time of the year. He took a great interest in his yard and enjoyed keeping it beautifully groomed. Some other favorite fun times were card playing and dancing. He and his wife Mildred were members of Mt. Crest United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred Ammons of Pikeville; sons, Kevin Ammons, Wayne Ammons and his wife Sharon, and Dean Ammons and his wife Toni; stepson, Milton Scott McCrery and step-daughter, Patricia Ann Webb and her husband Kirk.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, May 14, at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Crest United Methodist Church in Pikeville. The family has asked donations be made to the Veterans Emergency Fund in Crossville.
