C.B. Moore

C.B. Moore, 83, of Pikeville, died Tuesday, January 18, 2011. He was born in Morgan County in 1927. Moore was a loving father, grandfather, and friend to all who knew him. He was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church, where he was a member of the Adult III Sunday School Class. He served as Chief of Police for the City of Pikeville in the seventy’s and eighty’s and was retired from the Bledsoe County Ambulance Service.

Moore was an avid train collector for many years and always enjoyed running his trains for all his visitors. He was self-educated.

He was preceded in death by his parents Samuel and Maggie Jernigan Moore; brothers Charles and Robert Moore; sister Helen Abel; great-grandson Alexander Sutherland.

Moore is survived by his wife of 63 years Ruth B. Moore of Pikeville; daughters Patsy (Roy Joe) Angel of Pikeville; Teresa Mabry of Chattanooga; Myki (Larry) Frady of Pikeville; sons Conrad (Brenda) Moore of Pikeville; Philip (Sandy) Moore of Chattanooga; Jimmy Moore of Athens; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; brother Billy Paul (Barbara) Moore of Harriman;  several nieces and nephews.

Services were held January 20  in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Albert Roberts officiating. Burial was in Hillcrest Cemetery.
