Marie Labay

    Marie Labay, 75, of Pikeville, died Wednesday morning, October 13, 2010.

    She was born in Bledsoe County to Gordon and Mabel Brown. Marie was a member of First Southern Baptist Church where she belonged to the Fidalis Sunday School Class, was in charge of the Bledsoe County Ministerial Association’s Clothes Closet, and was a member of the Board of Directors at Wesley’s Chapel Cemetery. She retired from Oster of Dayton and Dura of Pikeville.

    Preceding her in death were her parents, Gordon and Mabel Brown.

    Survivors include two sons Tim Labay of Pikeville; Jim (Elaine) Labay of Dayton; sister Margaret Heckaman of Pikeville; two brothers, Dion (Imogene) Brown of Pikeville and Clay (Margaret) Brown of Chattanooga; grandchildren Jeremy Labay, Cora Labay, Chad (Patsy) Labay, Tiffany (Jason) Beene; two great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews; and a host of friends.

    Services were held Saturday, October 16 in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Jim Whitaker and Bro. Darrell Evans officiating. Burial was in Wesley Chapel Cemetery.

    In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Wesley Chapel Cemetery or First Southern Baptist Church.
