Roscoe George Putman

    Roscoe George Putman, 51, born October 4, 1957, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on September 10, 2009.
    He was the son of the late Jack H. and Marietta Graham Putnam of Pikeville.
    George leaves behind his loving wife, Sonyia Turner Putnam; children Marietta and Jackson Putnam of Pike-ville; brother Jack H. (Peggy) Putnam, Jr., of Maryville; sister Nancy (Tommy) Siever of Pikeville; nephews Thomas Siever of Cookeville and William Siever of Hixson, Christopher, Patrick, Alan, Chandler, and Zane; nieces, Brooke, Mallory, and Kailey; and several cousins.
    George was part of the 1975 graduating class of Bledsoe County High School. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville. Putnam was employed at Sequoyah Nuclear Plant beginning as an Assistant Unit Operator, to Reactor Operator, to Senior Reactor Operator to Sen-ior Reactor Operator Instructor. He received a distinguishing award for his integrity and dedication of 28 years of faithful service.
    He was a member of West End Church of God where he served as an elder and church clerk for 18 years. George spent time with the Mt. Crest Volunteer Fire Department where he was a chaplain. George enjoyed the fellowship of friends and the beauty of nature from the seat of his favorite Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
