Mary Holland
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Mary Holland, a woman of boundless energy and courage.
Mary was born on January 15, 1941 in Dearborn, Michigan to Emmett and Maxie Christian (Pierson) and passed away on July 21, 2026 in Brockdell, Tennessee. Through her journey of 85 years, she touched many lives with her wisdom, humor and unwavering spirit.
Mary’s legacy of perseverance and giving will be carried forward by those who had the privilege of knowing her. Her remarkable life will forever be an inspiration, a testament to the power of an indomitable spirit enthused with curiosity and resilience. She will be greatly missed and forever remembered.
She was joined in wedlock to Clyde Holland on December 14, 1957.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Joe (Patt) and Bobby (Betty); and sister, Clara Bell Turner (Hale) and will be lovingly remembered by sisters, Jane McCalpin (Bob), Judy McNear (Sonny); children, Brian, Lisa Hill (Kevin), and Todd (Victoria); grandchildren, Kelli Balazsi, Julie and Kerri Holland; and newly arrived great-grandson Cameron Blake Balazsi; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Mary played a key role in raising her younger sisters, Jane and Judy. Her mother stayed near and dear to her until she died, and, of course, she cherished time with her grandchildren. She had a green thumb, with a love of flowers and a passion for outdoor planting every spring. She also enjoyed baking and trying out new recipes for her delicious desserts and cakes. She spent years performing philanthropic activities in the community, her church, fire department and for those in need. She was the most resilient person ever, always putting everyone first and fought hard until the end. Her friends called her an angel. She is now elevated to happier place.
The family would like to thank all those who have helped and supported Mary. She was a special lady!
Funeral services were held Saturday, July 25, at noon in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Danny Lee and James Daggett officiating. Burial was in Rainey-Dill Cemetery. Visitation was held Friday, July 24, from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m. CDT.
