Bryant charged with Threats of Mass Violence

Roberson Cole Bryant has been charged with Threats of Mass Violence on School Property, according to Bledsoe County Sheriff Jimmy Morris. He was arrested for threatening to burn down Pikeville Elementary because he was not allowed to obtain information about his girlfriend’s 4-year-old daughter being touched inappropriately by a 4-year-old boy at the school, said Sheriff Morris. Bryant did not legal rights to request or receive the information, he said.

On Tuesday, March 3, the Bledsoe County Sheriff’s Office began investigating a threatening social media post directed toward Pikeville Elementary School in Pikeville. Detectives quickly identified the individual responsible for the post and made contact as part of the investigation. The post has since been removed from social media.

Sheriff Morris said currently, there is no immediate threat to Pikeville Elementary School. The Sheriff’s Office continues to work with school officials and has increased patrol presence in the area as a precaution.
