In an effort to entice tourists to come enjoy the natural beauty of the Sequatchie Valley and its friendly people, a new traveler’s guide has been published. The 24-page guide features places to go, things to see and do in Bledsoe and Sequatchie Counties. It’s known as the Sequatchie Valley Traveler: Escape and Explore Tennessee’s Great Valley.
The guide is a joint effort of THRIVE Sequatchie and the Pikeville Tourism Committee. They commissioned Valley Publishing Company, Inc. in Pikeville to create content and design the guide in time for the Nation’s 250th birthday celebrated July 4, 2026.
Several area businesses from airbnb’s to cabins, ice cream and sandwich shops to restaurants, mercantile to antique stores, ranches to alpaca farms are advertised in the 2026 edition.
Annual calendar events are published with hopes visitors will make plans to come visit the many events from bluegrass concerts to festivals to cruise-ins to Christmas programs.
Nearby state parks are featured including Fall Creek Falls, Head of the Sequatchie, Foster Falls, and Cumberland Mountain State Park.
The guides are available through the Chamber of Commerce offices in Dunlap and Pikeville, various tourists attractions, lodging and restaurants in the area.
