Saturday afternoon, July 4, many people walked or rode in the parade celebrating the 250th birthday of America in downtown Pikeville. As the parade made its way from the Pikeville Municipal and northward on Main Street, there were greeted by people waving American flags, children with their bags readied for the candy that might be thrown, and others honoring men and women who have served this country by cheering for them.
Later that day, a cruise-in was enjoyed along with music at the Main Street Stage. The day culminated with a fantastic fireworks that lit the night-sky up.
