Linda Sue Walker

Linda Sue Walker, 71, of Pikeville, Tennessee, died Monday, October 11, 2021.

She was a member of New Martin Church of God. She worked as a CNA in the home healthcare industry and retired as the Assistant to Debby Collier at Bledsoe County Nursing Home. She loved music and blessed many people at her church with her talents, as well as many other people at various places. She was a caretaker and rock for many, feeding and taking care of her community. Christmas was her favorite time of year. She enjoyed mowing her yard and kept it immaculate.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Ida Hitchcox; siblings, Charlotte “Oddie” Rogers, Cleveland Hitchcox and Dennis Hitchcox; nephew, Ricky Hitchcox; great-nephew, Josh Hitchcox; and niece, Barbara Rogers.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Melvin Walker of Pikeville; son, Melvin Dewayne (Michelle) Walker of Pikeville; grandchildren, Andrew (Crystal) Loftis and Julia (Bobby) Briggs; six great-grandchildren; granddog, Buttercup; siblings, Vivian Webb of Pikeville, Annette Morris of Spencer and Lynn Hitchcox of Pikeville; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Monday, October 18, at noon at New Martin Church of God. Burial was in Hitchcox Cemetery.
