Bratch Wilson Swafford, Sr.

Bratch Wilson Swafford, Sr., 94 of Pikeville, Tennessee died Tuesday, September 8, 2020 with family by his side.

Bratch served in the United States Army and later opened his own Barber Shop and operated it for over 26 years. He loved golf, enjoyed gardening, coon hunting, camping, and baseball.   

Preceding Bratch in death was his wife of 26 years LaVerne Welch Swafford; parents, Sidney Clint and Mary Elizabeth Sullivan Swafford; brothers, John Paul, Henry, and Hollis Swafford; sisters, Virginia Swafford, Shelby Jean Carroll, and Dorothy Holloway; sister-in-law, Dorothy Jean Swafford; niece, Sheri Pendergrass.

Survivors include his children, Carolyn Holloway, Bratch Wilson “Bubba” (Lehron) Swafford, Jr.,  and Jerry (Wilma) Swafford, all of Pikeville; brothers, Max (Mary) Swafford, Dion (Linda) Swafford; sister, Theresa Hodges; grandchildren, Toni Hanna, Siobhan (Drew) McMurray, Wilson (Kayla) Swafford, Jazz (Joel) Holland, and Jerry “Bro” Swafford, Jr.; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson; special friend, Leroy Troy; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

A celebration of life was held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 12, in the funeral home chapel with Bro. James Dunn officiating. Burial was in Worthington Cemetery.
