Norman Davis

Norman Eugene Davis, 80, of Pikeville, passed away at his home on December 16, 2015, surrounded by his family.

He was a United States Army veteran, serving as a Sergeant in the Korean War. Upon leaving the military, he spent his remaining lifetime working as a lineman, where he retired as a foreman for SVEC. After retirement he enjoyed years of woodworking.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Matt Scott and Georgia Mae Payne Davis; brothers, Mack, Robert, Homer, L.V. and J.C. Davis; sisters, Velma Daggett, Marie Russell and Ola Mae Davis.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 62 years, Frances Carol Bickford Davis; daughter, Sharon (Danny) Layne of Tracy City; son, Gene (Susan) Davis of Lilburn, Georgia; and daughter, Teresa (Bryan) McMillen of Pikeville; grandchildren, Nikki Layne, Megan (Lindsey) Smith, Eric (Erica) Davis, Brandi (Charles) Burge, Kim Davis, Kendra McMillen, Colton McMillen and Katie McMillen; great-grandchildren, Javan, Dallas and Journey Winton, Derek, Autumn, Evyn and Wyatt Burge and Austin Elliott, Trinity Reel, Cole Debord, Fallon Lafferty and Lyla McMillen; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were December 18. Burial was in Cagle Cemetery.
