David C. Goodland

David C. Goodland, 85, of Pikeville died Sunday, March 29, 2015.

He was a member of Dayton Church of Christ where he had a very active role in the church. David was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin, with a degree in chemical engineering. He began has career in chemical engineering at Oak Ridge National Lab in Oak Ridge, he worked for 20 years for Goodyear in Akron, Ohio. During that time he spent a year in Paris France with his family, the remainder of his career he spent working at Flour-Daniel in Irvine, California. He retired to Morristown to be near his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed reading, current events, photography and was an avid collector.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Wandell S. Gooland; son, John Stephen Goodland; and parents, Judge Elmer D. and Dorthea Goodland.

Survivors include his loving wife, Tina Brown Goodland, Pikeville; daughters, Jan (Jeff) Goodland-Metz of Charlestown, Rhode Island, Jill (Tom) Lutman of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, Judith G. (Kendall) Clark of Newport; stepchildren, Schawn (Carol) Brown of Pikeville, Cynthia (Larry) Cowell of Atlanta, Georgia, Stephen (Allison) Brown of Franklin; grandchildren, John, John McCauley, Megan, Kristen, Abby, Sarah, Victoria, Kaitlyn, Sydney, Preston; great-grandchildren, Aurora and Ashley; sister, Janet Behl, Columbus, Wisconsin; and numerous friends.

Funeral services were held April 1 at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Steve Brown officiating. Burial was in Bethesda Cemetery.
