Kathleen Boynton DeBord
Kathleen Boynton DeBord of Pikeville passed away on December 11, 2012. She was born April 5, 1922 to the late Roy Boynton and Lema Simmons Boynton.
She was a faithful Christian and a member of the Sequatchie Valley church of Christ. She was a devoted wife and mother.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim DeBord; son and daughter-in-law, Mitchell and Ellen DeBord; two son-in-laws Thomas Hankins and J.C. Reel; grandson, James DeBord; great-grandchildren, J.W. and Amanda DeBord; and brother, Douglas Jacobs.
She is survived by and will be missed by five children, Treva Hankins, Grace (Virgil) Ferguson, Melba (John) Hargis, Leroy (Lou) DeBord, and Robert DeBord; 15 grandchildren, Waymon (Teri) DeBord, Stacey (Joan) DeBord, Teresa Evans, Ricky Hankins, Regina Bowman, Chris (Marsha) Hankins, Mike Reel, Steve (Jennifer) Reel, Jason (Melissa) Reel, Marsha (Jeff) Camp, Michelle (Charles Ray) Rains, Amy (Jason) Jolley, Betsy (Rocky) McCabe, Anna (Matt) Lowery and Zac DeBord; 31 great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; brother Eugene (Wanda) Jacobs of Chattanooga; several nieces and nephews; and many dear friends.
A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, December 13, at 2:00 p.m. with Minister Paul Cagle, Minister T.A. Smith, and Minister David Smith officiating.
