Billy Joe Davis

Billy Joe Davis, 59, of Jasper, lost his fight with cancer on December 2, 2011 at his home in the Marion County Park.

He was of the Church of Christ faith. He was a salesman for Glidden Paint in Chattanooga for 25 years. He was Fire Chief for Hale Town Fire Department for 2 years. He was a park manager a Marion County Park for the last 7 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cleston (Dortha) Davis, brothers, James Umstead and Roy Randolph, baby sister, Martha Lou Umstead, nephew, Michael Davis.

He is survived and will be missed by his wife, Cynthia Davis; daughter, Jennifer Davis; stepchildren, Rebecca Beatson, Rachel (Tim) Curtis, Jennifer (Matt) Chapman, Andrea Mangiapane, Michael (Ashley) Mangiapane, and Vanessa Mangiapane; brother, Rickey (Diane) Davis; sisters, Linda Rodgers, Mary Curtis, and Ann Brinley; nine grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and many dear friends.

A celebration of his life was held in the chapel of Whitwell Memorial Funeral Home on December 4 with civil service honors.
