Harry Gunn Evans

Harry Gunn Evans, 94, died June 5, 2011 at the VNA Hospice House of Vero Beach, Florida.
He was born in Whitwell, Tennessee and retired to Florida 30 years ago from Franklin Lakes, N.J.
He graduated from Georgia Tech with an Engineering degree. He was a member of the ROTC. He served four years overseas during WWII. He was a Captain with the 63rd Signal Battalion serving in North Africa, Italy and the European Theater. He was an engineer in the road construction business for over 35 years in New Jersey.
He was preceded in death by his son, William Pope Evans.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Doris Evans of Vero Beach, Florida; daughter, Jan (Roger) Bott of Pikeville; son, Barry (Ann) Evans of Charleston, West Virginia, five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
