Beatrice (Granny Bea) Sinks Knott

Beatrice (Granny Bea) Sinks Knott, 90, of Pikeville, passed peacefully from this life on October 7, 2010 at her home surrounded by family.

She was of the Church of God faith and a beloved member of her family. Knott spent most of her life in a kitchen, whether it was at home cooking for family and friends or in the restaurants where she worked. She was a wonderful, loving, giving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to all who were blessed to know her. By example she instilled in her family the importance of family, hard work, honesty, love and respect, that is was better to give than to receive and always treat others the way you wanted to be treated.

Preceding her in death were parents, Leland and Clara Holland; husbands, Julius Sinks and Loyd Knott; sons, Raymond Sinks and Randell Sinks; granddaughter, Carol Johnson; special nephew, Anthony (Tony) Bickford; brother, Paul Holland; and sister, Viola Tollison.

She is survived by her daughters, Pearl Sullivan and Sylvia (Sam) Rainey, Jr. of Pikeville; son, Ivan (Patricia) Sinks of Dunlap; daughters-in-law Vivian Sinks of McMinnville and Bonnie Sinks of Michigan; brother, Clyde (Mary) Holland of Pikeville; sister, Wilma (Dan) Fults of McMinnville; 11 grandchildren; numerous special nieces, nephews, and friends.

Services were October 10 in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Danny Lee and Bro. Elmer Blaylock officiating. Burial was in Rainey-Dill Cemetery.
