On Wednesday, July 15, a presentation with Clara Barton, Civil War Battlefield Nurse is being held at The Palace Theatre in Crossville at 6:00 p.m. Barton earned fame as the first independent woman to bring medical supplies and nursing care directly onto the front lines of Civil War battlefields. She was also directly involved in women’s suffrage, Geneva Convention, American Red Cross, Missing Soldiers Office, and more. Tickets are $19 for this event. It is summer reading time again at the Bledsoe County Library. Sign-up begins June 9 and teacher Kathie Britt will begin story hour at the Pikeville Farmers Market on June 11 at 10:30 a.m. The kickoff show, “Unearth the Magic” will be June 18 at 10:30 a.m. at the Main Street Stage, downtown Pikeville.
