Rockslide, storm damage close Lee Station Mountain Road

Heavy storms throughout Bledsoe County Thursday, June 28, caused a rockslide on Lee Station Mountain Road, according to Bledsoe County Rescue Squad First Lieutenant Corey Summers. The storms brought rocks and tress onto the roadway, Summers added, and part of the road began washing out. The road is closed until further notice.

Young woman loses life in wreck

Brewer arrested on over 50 counts of forgery

After eluding authorities since March 29, a former Bledsoe County deputy is in custody. Jake Brewer, 32, now will have to appear in Circuit Court, answering to over 50 counts of forgery and theft related charges presented in indictments returned by the Grand Jury. Pitts Gap mountain Road is closed until further notice, according to the Bledsoe County Highway Department. The road is closed due to a resurfacing project. After early morning torrential rains, several roads are flooded throughout the county. The Bledsoe County Sheriff’s Department and Bledsoe County Rescue Squad are currently blocking roads and conducting rescues in areas that are reachable.
