LB Rogers

LB Rogers, 88, of Pikeville, Tennessee passed away at his home on July 21, 2026.

He was a member of the Brockdell Church of God for the majority of his life. He was a minister and preached for many pastors in their absence. He loved to sing and play guitar almost as much as he loved the Lord. He loved sharing the gospel, or what he called “the good book.” He enjoyed spending time at church with his church family. He also had a workshop where he built birdhouses which was one of his favorite hobbies.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotta (Ottie) Rogers; daughter, Barbara Darlene Rogers; parents, Daniel and Zada Rogers; siblings, Charlie, Dan Jr., Rufus, Michael, Jimmy Joe, Tom, and Truman Rogers, Dovie Finley, Katie Snodgrass, Sarah Rogers, Marie Rogers, Maddie Prater, Margaret Keener, Evelyn Russell and Elizabeth Davis; and daughter in law, Jeanette Rogers.

He is survived by his sons, Bruce (Patricia) Rogers of Spencer, and Rev. David C. Rogers of Pikeville; two grandchildren, Brady (Alice) Rogers and Meghan Rogers; sister, Bobbie Jean Overby of Spencer; and several nieces and nephews.

A special thank you is extended to caregivers Aileen Songer, Lynn Hitchcock, Lifecare of Sparta & Crossville, Gentiva Hospice, Bledsoe County EMS, Brockdell Fire Department, and his church family, as well as all who spent time with him during his illness.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, July 26, at 2:00 p.m. CDT in the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Danny Rogers and Rev. Donny Lawson officiating. Burial followed at Hitchcox Cemetery. Visitation was on Friday, July 24, from 1:00-8:00 p.m.  and Saturday, July 25, from 10:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m.
