William H. Simmons
William H. Simmons, 87, of Pikeville, Tennessee passed away March 14, 2026, at Erlanger Bledsoe Hospital.
He was a graduate of Bledsoe County High School and was always a proud Warrior. He worked at Brown & Wilson Ford before relocating his family to Chattanooga where he worked for many years as a Chemical Plant Operator at CF Industries. After retiring, he worked for several years at ICI Americas there before retiring to his hometown of Pikeville in the mid 90’s. Always needing to be busy, he worked for the City of Pikeville until the early 2000’s.
He loved the outdoors and spent many years following his passion for hunting and fishing. His greater passion was for his two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife, Beeky Simmons; daughter, Kelli Simmons; parents, Samuel Litton Simmons and Cora Ethel Simmons; as well as several siblings Clint Simmons, Barbara Simmons, “Buddy” Simmons, Betty Owens, Brent Simmons, and Casey Simmons.
He is survived by his son, Greg Simmons; grandchildren, Patrick and Tara Simmons; great-grandchildren, Beckett and Evelynn; and youngest brother, Wayne [Sandra] Simmons.
He will be remembered for his outgoing personality, the President of the “South Pikeville Liars Club” and sense of humor, as well as dedicated following of the Vanderbilt Commodores.
Graveside services will be held Sunday, March 22 at 3:00 p.m. CDT at Pikeville Cemetery. Burial will be in Pikeville Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday, March 22, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Greg, I’m so sorry to hear about your dad. He was a good man that loved his family. I can’t watch A Christmas Story without thinking about him.
