Elaine Neal McKiddy

Elaine Neal McKiddy, 76, of Pikeville, Tennessee, died Friday, May 8, 2026. She was born September 26, 1949, in Cookeville, Tennessee. She grew up in Cookeville, where she spent many years caring for others as a licensed practical nurse.

She was a member of the Church of Christ and relied on her faith throughout her life. In her retirement years, Elaine lived in Bledsoe County for at least the past 10 years to be closer to her daughter and to watch her grandchildren grow. Being near her family was dear to her heart and brought her much comfort and joy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Melba Christine and James Thomas Neal; and her aunt, Faye Wheeler.

She is survived by her daughter, Joanna Lynn (Charlie) Hankins; granddaughter, Savanna Raye Hankins; grandson, Austin Thomas Hankins; sister, Kay; and many other special friends and family members.

The family would like to thank the community for the outpouring of thoughts, prayers, and kindness that has helped them through this difficult time. A special thank you is reserved for Joanna’s sister, Dr. Tory Deshannon Lawrence; nurses, Robin and Nicole, and the whole Hearth Hospice team for their quality and compassionate care. Above all, the family thanks the Lord for the precious time with Elaine.

Funeral services were held Monday, May 11, at 1:00 p.m. CDT in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Mike Fox from Flynn’s Creek Church of Christ officiating. Burial was in McDowell Cemetery. Visitation was held Monday, May 11, from 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. CDT.
