It was truly a night to remember for 74 young girls and 51 dads at the first May Flower Daddy-Daughter Dance. It was sponsored by WAGS of Bledsoe as a fund raising event for the organization that is working to build and operate an animal shelter in Bledsoe County.
Organizers decorated the BTC Fiber Training Center with butterflies, balloons, streamers, pink and purple lights to make the atmosphere for the dance special for each princess who entered the room. Each girl was given a tiara to wear making them feel like the princesses they are.
DJ Tom Roberts spun the tunes and WAGS board member Tina Gerkman got the dads on their feet and dancing with the girls. She taught them different dances they could do as a group and individually.
Photos were taken by 3-2-1 Say Cheese and each dad and daughter or daughters received a photo to commemorate the evening.
Refreshments were enjoyed by all. There were giveaways, a limbo contest, dance contest, and a King and his Princess were crowned.
The evening was successful in different ways from making this a special memory for the dads/special dads and their daughters to supporting WAGS of Bledsoe.
Organizers have started making plans for the next daddy-daughter dance and are considering a momma-son dance in the future.
The group expressed its appreciation to BTC Fiber for the use of their training center, Tom Roberts for a phenomenal job as DJ, The Butter Dish, Sells Building Supply, The Bark Yard, 3-2-1 Say Cheese, and The Bledsonian-Banner for their contributions.
