Sounds of some of the best bluegrass will fill the air at the Nine Mile Bluegrass Festival being held May 8-9 at the Nine Mile Volunteer Fire Company. Everyone is invited to come enjoy the music, vendors, and concessions to help raise funds for the fire department located at 21008 Old State Highway 28, north of Pikeville.
The two-day festival gets started Friday, May 8 at 6:00 p.m. with Edmons Bluegrass followed by Back-N-Tyme at 6:30 p.m. Copper Canyon takes the stage at 7:15 p.m., Grassy Creek at 8:00 p.m. and Ken & J. Max play at 8:45 p.m.
On Saturday, May 9, the music starts at noon with Ken & J. Max who plays again at 5:15 p.m. followed by:
•Clear View at 12:45 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.
•Grassy Creek at 1:30 p.m. and 6:45 p.m.
•Lakeside at 2:15 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
•Back-N-Tyme at 3:00 p.m. and 8:15 p.m.
•Conspiracy to Kill a Possum at 3:45 p.m., and
•Edmons Bluegrass at 4:30 p.m. and 9:45 p.m.
Join Master of Ceremonies Kelle Perry as she introduces the bands and keeps the festival moving.
Admission is $10 per person with kids 10 and under admitted free.
Craft vendors are welcome to set up at no cost.
Camping is available.
The organization is not responsible for accidents. No alcohol on the premises, and no pets under the pavilion or in the food service areas.
