Dexter’s Barber Shop celebrates 35th June 5

Thirty-five years ago today, June 5, 1990, Dexter Smith started clipping his way to a successful business in Pikeville when he opened Dexter’s Barber Shop. A celebration of his contribution to the community is being held from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the Shop, located on Main Street.

He has continued a tradition of cutting, styling, and shaving men over the years with many coming as young children with their father or grandfather.
