Trio retiring from Wheeler with over 100 years collectively of shaping students’ future
Two teachers and the school librarian at Mary V. Wheeler Elementary School are retiring this year with over 100 years collectively invested in educating the youth of Bledsoe County.
Cathy Standefer is retiring with 46 years teaching kindergarten, first and second grades. Karyn Angel is retiring after 45 years of teaching Pre-K, kindergarten, first and third grades through the years. Currently, she has been the RTI (Response to Intervention) instructor at the school. Dorothy Fonville started at the school in 1997 and will retire as the school’s librarian.
