Newcome faces charges, vehicular homicide

Two young men were involved in a single vehicle accident in the early morning hours of Saturday, August 24 on Old Spencer Road (Old Mountain Road) in Bledsoe County, according to Tennessee Highway Patrol arrest reports. One of those men lost his life after being ejected from the truck, while the driver faces multiple charges.

The accident victim, Hunter Boyd Smith, 25, of Crossville, was ejected from the front windshield of the truck when it left the roadway, striking multiple trees, according to the THP narrative in the court records.

Wyatt Gabriel Wayne Newcome, 20, of Rockwood, was injured and transported by EMS to Erlanger Bledsoe for treatment.
