Bledsoe County High School’s NASA Challenger Team gets financial boost, just before competition
Bledsoe County High School’s NASA Challenger received a $5,000 check from TVA and Sequachee Valley Electric Cooperative prior to the team’s competition this week in Huntsville, Alabama. Presenting the check to Michiel Palmer, the NASA Challenger team’s advisor/teacher (at right, holding the check) are (front, left to right) Shirley Pond with US Representative Scott DesJarlais’ office, Kari Crouse with SVEC, and Ashton Lewey with TVA. Others joining in the presentation are team members, Billy Akin with SVEC, CTE Principal Steve Reel, and BCHS Principal Matt Ridley. The money will be used to buy supplies and equipment for the project. The team designed and constructed a rover that is competing against other high schools and universities from around the world this week.
