Veterans Day events planned and schools to honor Veterans

Veterans Day 2023 is being recognized on November 11 at 11:00 a.m. at the Veterans Memorial in downtown Pikeville. Bledsoe County Schools are planning other events at each school to recognize those who have served this country.

Guest speaker on Veterans Day is Ray Evans, U.S. Army peace time veteran, from Pikeville. Prior to his speech, the Bledsoe County High School Singing Warriors will perform the National Anthem-The Star Spangled Banner and God Bless America. The names of those who gave their all will be read from the monument in front of the Bledsoe County Courthouse too and a wreath will be placed there.

Those attending the ceremony are welcome to bring a chair to sit in for comfort.

If it rains, the ceremony will be moved to the Pikeville Farmers Market pavilion.
